Lee Ann Sullivan, J.D.
Board President
Nonprofit Development Professional
Lee Ann brings over 15 years of professional fundraising experience to MCHC. From 2004 to 2008, Lee Ann served as MCHC’s first Director of Development. From 2015 to 2021, she led fundraising efforts for a continuing care residence for seniors called Barclay Friends. While there, she led a capital campaign raising $1.5 million. She has also been involved in volunteering for local organizations including SPARC (Southeastern PA Autism Resource Center).
Lee Ann is excited to help MCHC Board and staff fulfill the organization’s mission. Lee Ann lives in West Chester with her husband, son and fur baby Pugsy.

Hanna McCarthy, MBA

Hanna is a seasoned business strategist and designer, holding an MBA from the Darden School of Business (UVA). Hanna spent time teaching business fundamentals and Design Thinking at UVA’s iLab while also navigating the entrepreneurial landscape, spearheading the successful launch and expansion of her own venture in 2014, which expanded to three locations and set the stage for future franchising initiatives. Post the sale of her business, Hanna seamlessly transitioned to pivotal roles in marketing, design, and branding at J&J before assuming her current position at Edward Jones.

During her impactful TEDx speech, Hanna delved into the essence of resilience within business, underscoring its vital role in navigating challenges and fostering growth. Leveraging her rich background, Hanna has also contributed as a professor for Resilience Education and as a wilderness instructor for Outward Bound, honing her facilitation skills and emphasizing the importance of empathy in design. She ardently advocates for a human-centric approach in all her projects.

Committed to community engagement, Hanna extends her passion for team-building as a volunteer firefighter in the West Chester, PA area and as a board member for MCHC.

Elizabeth brings over 25 years of experience helping nonprofit organizations optimize their financial performance through business advisory consulting and auditing services. She was first introduced to MCHC as the facilitator of a board finance workshop through The Nonprofit Center at La Salle University for MCHC’s Board of Directors in 2018. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Saint Joseph’s University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Allison has a strong passion for families and health access for all children that aligns with MCHC’s mission, as well as for fundraising for the organization. She has served as a MCHC Board member since January 2019. She was our prior Board president 2022-2025, now in the role of Board Secretary and Co-Chair of the Fund Development Committee. She is currently a full time Senior Sales Agent for Comparion Insurance Agency out of Exton, Pennsylvania helping families with all lines of personal insurance, having been a professional in the industry for the last 16 years. She has a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Health/Physical Education from West Chester University.

Wendy Sharpe
AP Director (retired), Bentley Systems

Wendy was the Corporate Accounts Payable Director at Bentley Systems Inc., where she has worked for over 15 years. A graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Immaculata University, she brings an outstanding background in the areas of finance and accounting to the MCHC Board.  She is a member of the Institute of Finance and Management and the Institute of Financial Operations.  Her extensive volunteer experience includes Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Family Lives on Foundation, Chester County Food Bank and Good Works.  She was a part of the Leadership Chester County Class of 2014, expanding her knowledge of human service needs in Chester County.

John joined the Board of MCHC in 2024, bringing a wealth of experience in development and community engagement through his longstanding support of nonprofits in his community. With a strong background in economics and the insurance industry, he has dedicated his career to improving the lives of individuals and families by providing tailored insurance solutions. In 2008, he founded Cosaint Insurance Advisors and serves as president and broker.

Anne Krouse, BSN, PhD, MBA, RN-BC
Professor Emeritus, Dean School of Nursing (retired), Widener University

Anne is Professor Emeritus and Retired Dean of the School of Nursing at Widener University, a position she held until 2025. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Anne has held key leadership roles in nursing education and administration.

At Widener University, Anne dedicated 22 years to advancing nursing education and institutional innovation in various capacities, including Associate Provost for Learning Spaces and Strategic Initiatives, where she led strategic planning, process improvement, and service-learning initiatives. She also coordinated the Executive Nurse Leadership track within the Master’s in Nursing program, preparing nurses to become transformative leaders in healthcare systems focused on equitable, patient-centered care.

Her academic contributions include graduate teaching in health policy, informatics, curriculum design, and dissertation advisement, alongside directing faculty development in technology integration within the nursing curriculum.

Anne holds a PhD in Nursing and an MSN in Perinatal Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA in Health Care Administration from St. Joseph’s University, and a BSN from Villanova University. Her interdisciplinary expertise bridges clinical practice, education, and healthcare leadership, making her a valued voice on our board.

Adam is the Founder and Managing Director of Lumera Search Partners, a boutique executive search firm specializing in C-suite and VP-level leadership. With more than 20 years of experience across talent, human resources, and organizational leadership, Adam has led executive search, HR, and talent functions for publicly traded companies, high-growth startups, and privately held businesses.

Deeply committed to service and community impact, Adam says, “I wanted to join the board of the Maternal & Child Health Consortium because of its strong commitment to supporting families, particularly those facing economic and healthcare barriers. MCHC’s work to reduce disparities through a variety of programs like health education, home visiting, and Healthy Start aligns with the passion my mother instilled on me for ensuring healthy and equitable starts. Katie is an experienced nurse leader dedicated to advancing safe, high-quality care for women, infants, and families. She currently serves as Director of Maternal Child Services at Chester County Hospital/Penn Medicine, where she leads clinical operations, strategy, and multidisciplinary teams across maternal and newborn care.

With nearly two decades of progressive leadership and frontline experience in maternal–child health, women’s services, and quality and patient safety, Katie brings deep expertise in systems improvement, team development, and evidence-based practice. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Thomas Jefferson University, a Master of Science in Nursing in Health Care Administration from Villanova University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Scranton. She is board-certified as a Nurse Executive Advanced, certified in Maternal Newborn Nursing, and a Six Sigma Green Belt, underscoring her commitment to operational excellence and patient-centered outcomes.

Emily Sorbello, B.S.

Emily is a performance-driven financial professional with more than 20 years of experience helping businesses grow through strategic lending and comprehensive banking solutions. At KeyBank, she partners with middle market companies to develop tailored financial strategies that promote stability, support expansion, and position organizations for long-term success.

Her work spans a broad range of financing needs, from working capital and cash management to mergers and acquisitions, equipment financing, capital markets, and asset-based and ESOP lending. She also brings deep experience supporting nonprofit organizations. Known for her collaborative, relationship-driven approach, Emily works closely with internal specialists across wealth management, foreign exchange, derivatives, and global trade to deliver integrated solutions that evolve alongside each organization’s goals.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and brings extensive expertise in commercial banking, credit analysis, and relationship management.
