MCHC’s record of success for over 20 years, would not have been achieved without the time, talent, and support of our wonderful volunteers. Our volunteers show us that caring community members have the power to improve the lives of children and their families.
A lot of care and preparation goes into assembling infant care items for each new mom, a backpack for a new kindergartner, or a mailing to our supporters. Help with these efforts are always appreciated. Clerical work at the MCHC sites is also really valuable to our busy Family Health Advocates, Parent Educators and management
Our participants are often occupied at educational classes or at Health Insurance Enrollment Days and volunteers are helpful in keeping the kids busy. Hold a sleeping baby, or color with and read a book to a young one while their parents focus on important opportunities.
MCHC recently started a Pillowcase Project. We are collecting donations of homemade pillowcases to hold each participant’s infant care items for their new baby. If you are a member of a quilter group, sewing club, or just enjoy sewing, offer your talent as a personal, unique, and useful gift to a new family.
Healthy Start and the Kennett Square Family Center hold family events such as Dental Fairs, Holiday Parties, or Safety Events for participants throughout the year. Be part of a special night by volunteering and see MCHC in action! Please visit our website for a list of upcoming events.
An important ingredient to our success in reaching so many residents from our communities is our presence at local community events such as local fairs. Represent MCHC at a local event and tell new friends about our important work. MCHC will equip you with all the information and materials you will need.
