Child Advocacy Services

At MCHC, Child Advocacy Services are provided for children ages 0-19 years-old and families involved with and/or referred by the Chester County Department of Children, Youth and Families (CYF). Our goal is to help families build stability, strengthen relationships, and create a safe, healthy environment for children to thrive.

Life Skills Program

The Life Skills Program provides personalized, in-home support for families with children involved with CYF. Program Coordinators work alongside parents to tackle the everyday challenges that can make family life feel overwhelming, from creating routines and building healthy relationships to navigating parenting, discipline, and household needs.

Support can also extend beyond parenting, including help finding stable housing or employment, managing a budget, and connecting with community resources. By meeting families where they are and focusing on practical, real-life needs, we help caregivers feel more confident, build stability, and create a stronger foundation for their children.

Life Skills services are only available to families referred by CYF.

Diversion Program

The Diversion Program, also known as Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), gives families support before challenges grow into a child welfare case. Through personalized guidance, practical parenting strategies, and connections to community resources, families get help navigating stressful situations, building stronger relationships, and creating more stability at home.

The goal is simple: help families get the support they need early, strengthen their confidence as parents, and keep small challenges from becoming bigger ones.

Diversion services are only available to families referred through CYF.

Family Group Decision Making Program

The Family Group Decision Making approach brings families and the people they trust together to work through challenges and make a plan for moving forward. Over three meetings, our staff help create a space where families can talk openly, identify what they need, and decide what will work best for them. Together with people they choose to involve, such as relatives, friends, school staff, or a CYF Caseworker, families build a practical action plan based on their strengths, priorities, and goals.

Family Group Decision Making is available to any family in Chester County.

Language Access Project

Language shouldn’t be a barrier to getting the care, services, and support a family needs. MCHC’s Language Access Project helps families with limited English proficiency navigate healthcare, social services, and other community supports through trained, culturally responsive interpreters.

The project provides interpretation and translation services for Spanish-speaking families and families who speak other languages or dialects, including Mam and Q’eqchi’. Trained interpreters can accompany families to appointments, help explain information and terminology, and translate written materials to reduce miscommunication and make services easier to access.

MCHC has been building language access in Chester County for more than two decades. Since 1999, we have trained hundreds of interpreters across healthcare, education, social services, and other fields, and our bilingual staff continue to support families throughout the region.

At its core, the Language Access Project is about making sure families can understand their options, communicate their needs, and access the services they qualify for.
